BREED INFORMATION

"Ajays Punchlines Queen Jade" (Jade)

This breed cannot withstand extreme temperatures, and is happiest when with its family. It is mainly an "indoor" breed, preferably on the couch! Boxers are wonderful with children, but can be too hyper for very young toddlers or infants. Boxers also need regular, vigorous exercise to keep them fit, lean, and content.

Love is not enough - be a responsible dog owner.

The Boxer is truly a unique breed - they have loads of character, and love to show off! Their certain "vocal sassiness" and mischievous nature make them entertaining companions. The official Boxer Standard specifies a Fawn or Brindle (ranging from light Golden Brindle to Black Brindle) coat with no more than 1/3 white.

The World Wide Boxer Logo

Purebred Boxers do not come in "black" or "black & white". A Boxer that looks black from a distance may actually be a black-brindle, also known as a reverse brindle - black with thin fawn stripes in the coat.
The appearance of pure white puppies in litters happens at a rate of approximately 25%...coming from the original Bull-Terrier type dog that went into making the Boxer breed. White puppies are NOT rare as some unscrupulous back yard breeders will advertise! See link to WHITE BOXER articles below for more info.

The Boxer's approximate size is 21-25" at the top of the shoulder (withers) and 50-85 lbs. (females being lighter and smaller, males heavier and bigger. There is no such thing as a "Miniature" or "Giant" Boxer.) Boxers are natural guard dogs, and although they are not outwardly aggressive, they are fearless if threatened. If challenged to a fight, they will not back down; however, they should not "go looking" for a fight.

They absolutely adore children, and nothing gives them more pleasure than being with their family. Boxers have a high energy level, and need to be exercised daily, fed high quality food (Kaboom recommends BARF/Raw diets), and given lots of hugs and kisses!  Boxers are quick learners, but can be stubborn. Positive motivational training and lots of individual personal attention on a daily basis will turn a hyperactive Boxer puppy into a well mannered adult.
