KABOOM BOXERS
CKC Registered Breeder since 1995

CANINE FOLLICULAR DYSPLASIA

Characterized by coat changes, it is a group of diseases in which there is a marked predilection, suggesting a genetic basis.

Several breeds, including Boxers, can be affected. In addition, there are several endocrine syndromes that may also have abnormalities in follicular receptors. Hair does not grow properly, or does not grow at all. Coats can be dull, frizzy, and unhealthy looking.

Hair loss, dry skin, itchy skin, or hyperpigmentation can also be a sign of Hypothyroidism. Boxers are now rated the #5 breed for thyroid disease. KABOOM Boxers are tested for thyroid disease prior to breeding.
