STOLEN ALMOST ONE YEAR AGO - MAY 6, 2007 - Reward Offered
Female Boxer named "BINX", stolen from Maple Ridge BC.
Contact Sherri Britton at 604 462 1181 or richard@infoserve.net

Binx was 8 months old when she disappeared from our yard on May 6 2007.  She was not spayed. We had just decided we didn't want to breed her but she was taken before we had her spayed.  She has been trained with very odd command words and would likely be easy to identify with these alone.  (For example, she will shut a door on the command of Spaghetti, she will shake a paw with the command of Potato Chips, she will come to the command Here kitty, kitty.)  She loves cats but will chase them.  She is extremely well mannered and doesn't have a mean bone in her body.

We would love to have her back as she has become such a huge part of the family.

Boxers available, and foster homes needed!

As a rescuer my family is very fortunate to watch the happy endings that rescue brings to a homeless boxer and to their new families.  To watch as families meet their new best friends, hug them, kiss them and love them for the first times it always brings tears to our eyes and makes us so happy.  We know not only is the boxer happy to be going home finally but the families are happy to have their new addition.

Unfortunately as a rescuer we do occasionally see the painful side of rescue as well.  So many of our rescue babies are sick, broken or unloved.  With time, love, patience and veterinary care they are made whole and move on to their new homes, but occasionally despite our best efforts there's nothing we can do, we are unable to make them whole, we are unable to save them.  Nothing we could do, would do, or do do would save a boxer in our care...and that was our Chip.

Chip arrived in our care on March 21st, 2006 from Boxer Rescue LA.  He was named Chip due to an old injury in his leg that had left him with an unrepairable bone chip that occasionally made him limp.  When I opened his crate he greeted me with a wagging tail and kisses.  For the next 4 days Chip enjoyed love, play time with our boxers and another foster, all the cookies he could eat and the attention we could give him.  He was a true boxer ambassador, as sweet as they come and as lovely as can be.  Chip passed away sometime in the night of March 24th.  He went quickly, quietly and peacefully.  He passed from a large tumor that was sitting quietly in his lung.  The tumor ruptured and within seconds Chip was gone.

We have had so many difficult days in rescue but today might be one of our hardest.
Run free little Chip.  Know that you had a foster family who loved you and a forever family who had not met you but will always remember you.

January 2004 ~ Living on BAVARO BEACH in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: Is this your Boxer?

Joanne with a stray Boxer living in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

On the Beach...a stray Boxer...the local residents think he was left here by someone on vacation.

Jeff and I went on vacation in January 2004, and met this nice boy living as a stray on the famous Bavaro beach in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. He is a red brindle...more like red fawn, but with a few small stripes on his hind legs. Natural ears, docked tail. He is quite thin, as there is only garbage for him to eat outside local restaurants and beachfront shops. Unlike the city dogs that we saw in Higuey, this boy has no bugs, and appears in fairly good health considering he is on his own. I suspect maybe the salt water at the beach kills off any fleas or mites... the city dogs are constantly scratching themselves.

The weather is always hot during the day, so he finds some shade in local beach restaurants or shops, and we saw him running along the beach during the warm evenings. After asking around (as best we could in Spanish), we were told that this boy just showed up one day and was most likely left here by someone on vacation. He is very mellow, and sits patiently at people's tables at the beach restaurants, waiting for any scraps that might be tossed his way. No one (except this Boxer breeder!) seemed to take much interest in his presence there, as there are stray dogs everywhere in the Dominican Republic.

He came and sat beside me one morning while I had a cappuccino on the front steps of our hotel.  I called him "Joe Boxer" and was able to inspect his skin (no bugs), his ears (looking for a tattoo) and mouth (to have a look at his teeth, which were in excellent condition)...he seemed to enjoy the extra attention, and wagged his tail when I spoke to him in English. I wanted to bring him home, but with only an 8-day vacation, it was not enough time to talk Jeff into the idea!

Maybe next year... if "Joe" is still there. - Joanne Faulkner, KABOOM Boxers

IS HE YOUR BOXER?

Update: 2008
